Importing Contacts and Leads

How do I import my contacts or leads into PipelineDeals?
From the contacts page, select Import Contacts the menu on the left side of the contacts screen. To import a list of lead, click on the Leads tab then Import Leads near the upper right side of your page.

*Important We think of Leads as any unqualified potential opportunities that are tracked with a Lead Source. They differ from Contacts which are for your existing relationships. When you run a Leads Import you will be able to manage that lead from the Leads work-list. It’s important to note that a contact record will also be created so that you can further edit the Leads’ details.

Next you will begin the 3 phase import process.

Phase 1- PipelineDeals requires that you import contact and lead files saved as CSV’s. Most applications including these following systems support saving to a CSV:

  • vCards
  • MSFT Excel
  • Outlook 2007
  • Outlook 2003
  • Outlook Express
  • Salesforce
  • Highrise
  • ACT! V9.0
  • Bulk Leads Import

Once you’ve saved your file as a CSV click browse to upload it

Phase 2- You can choose to Tag your Contacts.

Phase 3- Map the fields in your CSV to the ones we support in PipelineDeals. Often you will have extra fields or ones that are unnecessary which can be ignored.

Will all fields from my existing CRM or contact management system be imported?
No. We will import as many fields as possible. Those fields that are not standard PipelineDeals contact fields (e.g. website, or birthday) will be stored in a custom field for the contact.
